Basketball Court Construction in Smyrna, GA

A backyard half court typically needs a minimum of around 25 by 30 feet of usable, reasonably level space, while a full court requires significantly more room, often 50 by 84 feet or larger depending on the layout you choose. Smyrna lots vary quite a bit, from compact properties in older in town neighborhoods to larger parcels closer to East Cobb and Vinings, so we always start with an on site evaluation before recommending a size.

Georgia red clay and the grading of your yard play a big role in what is feasible. Many Smyrna properties have slight slopes or drainage patterns that need to be addressed before pouring or resurfacing a court. Our team walks the property, checks access for equipment, and talks through how you plan to use the space, whether that is casual family games, serious training, or a combined basketball and pickleball court.

Not every household needs or has room for a regulation full court, which is why we design courts in a range of sizes, including half courts, modified full courts, and driveway courts that make use of existing concrete or asphalt. For homeowners with larger lots near Vinings or East Cobb, a full size court with proper clearance around the perimeter is often possible, while in tighter, more established Smyrna neighborhoods a half court or compact layout tends to fit better.

We also design multi sport courts that combine basketball with pickleball lines, giving families and communities more flexibility from a single investment. Layout decisions take into account tree lines, property setbacks, drainage, and how the court will tie into the rest of your outdoor living space, so the finished result feels intentional rather than squeezed in.

Want to combine games on one slab? Our multi sport court layouts add pickleball lines to a basketball surface.

Acrylic color coating is the standard finish for most outdoor basketball courts we build or resurface in the Smyrna area, offering a durable, textured surface that holds up to Georgia heat, heavy summer rain, and occasional winter freeze thaw cycles. We apply color coatings over new or existing asphalt and concrete, and we can work with whatever color scheme fits your home or community branding, including two tone key and perimeter designs.

Once the surface is cured, we handle precise line painting for basketball, and for multi sport courts we add pickleball lines in a contrasting color so both games are easy to read on the same surface. If you already have an older asphalt or concrete court on your property, resurfacing and restriping is often a practical way to refresh it without a full rebuild.

Yes, many HOAs, swim and tennis communities, schools, and churches throughout Smyrna and Cobb County add or upgrade basketball courts as a shared amenity, and we work directly with community boards and facility managers on these projects. Community courts see heavier daily use than a backyard court, so surfacing choices and layout need to account for durability and the needs of players of different ages.

We also coordinate hoop and goal installation, and we can plan lighting and fencing for courts that will be used into the evening or need defined boundaries near parking areas or walking paths. Whether it is a single court addition to an existing recreational area or a new multi sport space combining basketball and pickleball, we design around how your community actually uses its outdoor amenities.

Our crews also build basketball courts in Marietta for neighbors nearby.

Every project starts with a site visit to evaluate grading, drainage, existing surfaces, and access, since Smyrna properties range from flat, open lots to yards with more noticeable slope and mature trees. From there we talk through court size, surfacing color, and whether you want a standalone basketball court or a multi sport design that includes pickleball.

Once the design is set, we handle surface preparation, acrylic color coating, and line painting, and we coordinate hoop or goal installation along with any lighting or fencing you want included. You can also use our online 3D court builder to experiment with layouts and colors before your consultation, which helps our team understand your vision from the very first conversation.
